Description

Well at long last I've finished this drawing..........or have I? To be honest it needs tweaking here and there and I desperately need a better scan of the drawing to upload but until then this is it.

Roughly 150 hours have gone into this and it sure did feel like it. At times I wanted to just put it in a drawer and never look at it again and if it wasn't for the fact that I'd promised this drawing to a friend, then I would have.

It's roughly A3 in size and is drawn on Bristol smooth board using a range of Graphite pencils.

Like I said, it needs tweaking here and there but overall I'm happy with it.

Edit:- This is a much better scan that I had done professionally.

Oh my! You got a great return on your 150 hour investment! Not a lot of time considering the top drawer level of work you obtained here!
I love this composition with the close cropped faces and the gestures of his hands. My only gripe is that the background is such a stark white.
Your proportions are "child like" spot on.
You have captured a great look and character of the subjects. She has such an adorable countenance to her face. And the boy just rocks!
Your foreshortening works very well here. I am thoroughly convinced that his hand is coming over her shoulder.
You have a gorgeous range of values here with plenty of contrast.
Masterful technique on display here in the use of subtle value changes and transitions to show the planes and contours of their faces. The treatment of the fabrics is also thoroughly convincing.
It’s a very strong piece of work!
It's a sterling piece of work! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c…" width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap"/>
